is there a command that will restore my computer to its state like a week ago? i deleted my sound drivers and codecs accidentally when i did disk clean up, however the computer thinks there still there and since theres a, sound driver in my device manager my comp thinks evrything is all right. and because of that i cant un istall it or reinstall it, when i right click them all it shows is peoperties, scan for updates and update since it is the current version i cant do anything, and i dont think even if they came out with a new driver in windows update it would make a difference without the codecs. so far the only helpfull answer that i would have done was to format my computer, but i think i need the cds for xp which i dont have cuz my computer came with xp, please if there is a command i can do to just put an end to this id greatly appreciate it.

i have a memory stick and i want to save the pix on it to the computer, i used to be able to just put in my memory stick and the computer would automatically sense that the memory stck was on and this tranfer pix used to come on
now i stick my memory stick and it doesnt sense tat its there then i go to My Computer and it also isnt there
can someone help me plz????

whenever i try to right click on the taskbar and choose Task Manager or when i try CTRL+ALT+DEL, a message box appears saying that my task manager has been disabled. the problem is, I am the only administrator in my laptop..... For the MSCONFIG, it doesn't show up everytime i run it... pls help.. still have a lot of things to work on...

i recently had to get my laptop reformatted (reinstall windows 98). i hadn't backed up anything so now my computer is like new. i had a lot of stuff saved before i had it reformatted...is there anyway i can personally manually find all these files? what about programmes like adobe, word, realplayer? are they all gone?

Okay, here is my problem. My Adobe reader 7.0 fails to initialize or open everytime I click on the icon. I would like to ask if there is anyone who might know what the problem might be. Like pretend I was planning to type CRAZY as my username, but I put CRZY, instead. So, when I try again and type C, the first words that I see is CRZY. Is there any way to erase that?

After having problems with XP, I took the hard drive out, installed it as a slave drive in another computer, I tried to fix it with the XP repair console but it still wouldn't start up. So I re-installed XP (not a clean install) and it started fine up fine when I switched it to the primary drive. But when I put the hard drive back in the original computer, all I get is the start up screen (that says windows xp) then it goes to the screen saying that it had a problem starting and would I like to start normally or safe mode etc. I can't get past this. Any idea what I should look for since it started fine in one and not the other? It's a Dell Dimension 4600i.

If I add 2gb of RAM or a graphics card (spending max $100) will I see any improvement in video?
I have a pentium 4 CPU 2.93 ghz w/integrated video and audio and 1 gb DDR memory. If I add a video card or RAM will I see any improvement in quality while watching video downloads (YouTube, Google, Yahoo, TV network, etc.) ? I'd like to be able to expand the playback screen size to improve viewing enjoyment.
I'm not a gamer but enjoy access to news and tv video on cable internet. So, will either addition give me more noticeable improvement on my monitor?

my google screensaver will not run properly and I have reloaded it twice. Could there be a problem with something in my computer. I'm not sure what to do because I really like the features of the screensaver. I have had trouble with some internet screensavers before but I figured this one would be ok because it was from google. is this laptop worth buying or should i wait for black friday. I just need a laptop for college and do to do some internet surfing and maybe a few games, but not many.

Would this laptop be worth $500 or could i get something better for that on black friday sales? thanks
The laptop is an open box item but has not been used.

I am trying to print my excel spreadsheet and it is set for the paper to be the size of a post card. I need it to be a regularly sized sheet of paper. So I went into Page Setup to change the paper size but there are only four options and they are all very small-4x8, 4x6 etc.
How can I get it to print to a normal page size even though it is not an option?!
