even if you format your hard drive and do a fresh install of windows xp you may not be able to get the drivers you need for your computer hardware to work. Many of the computers out there now are built for windows Vista and the manufacturers have not written drivers for windows xp.

I owuld suggest doing a fresh backup and image of your current system prior to any formatting and re installations of the OS to get to XP from Vista.

My opinion; Either we like it or not,Vista is the new operating system and eventually we all have to get use to it because it's the future. Now if you really hate it check the company's website in the support page if your model has XP drivers available. If so and you have a windows XP cd ,you can downgrade. Give it a week though .....disable all the annoyances and you may change your mind.

If it is a trial version, don't order it. Then uninstall Vista, buy and install XP.

If it is not a trial and it came "bundled" on your computer, you own it. It would be expensive to just discard it and buy XP.

Why not try to learn Vista?
If you set it to "classic" view, it will resemble XP which makes it a little easier to work with.

I have gotten a couple of used books from Amazon, half priced, excellent condition, explains well with graphics.

See if you can return your newly purchased computer. If not, visit your local independent computer store and purchase Windows XP and have XP installed.
