It depends on what integrated graphics you have on your laptop. Old ones may just be limited to 32mb. Newer ones like Intel GMA 900 have up to 128mb and GMA 950 up to 224mb. You usually adjust shared RAM in BIOS.

Laptops are not upgradeable, except for very few models, and by that I mean, you would have had to build it yourself.

The only thing you can really do with laptops to upgrade them is replace the hard drive, or put in more system memory. You cannot change the amount of ram on your video card. You might have an option to allocate more ram to the video card, but that is still not the same thing as having more video ram.

If you want more video ram, the only thing you can do is buy a new laptop.

More *RAM*, if you have a "shared memory" type of video system (most laptops do), then yes you can increase available video RAM by increasing system RAM.

HOWEVER, you should be able to increase available video RAM *without* adding system RAM. There should be a setting - either in the BIOS setup, the video properties setting (right click on the Win background), or in a separate video utility provided by the manufacturer. The trade-off? Every MB of RAM you allocate for video is unavailable for running software. Programs require video RAM to display graphics and system RAM to actually run the program instructions (i.e. do things). A shared memory setup allows (requires) that you share system RAM for both purposes.
