I suspect you don't have any program on your computer that can open the pdf files.

There are 2 free programs, available for download that work quite well. I much prefer Foxit PDF Reader for reading PDF files. It is a much smaller program than Adobe Acrobat Reader (AAR), uses fewer resources and causes less system issues than AAR. You can download Foxit Reader at www.download.com or www.filehippo.com, 2 of my favorite d/l sites.

Yup ... I just started having the same problem ... after I installed Office 2007!

I'll bet it's that blasted microsoft .pdf writer that had to be installed after-the-fact ... nothing but skullduggery, I say.

.pdf documents written by Office 2003 and converted to .pdf by Acrobat Pro version 7 can be opened by IE7--no problemo ... but no such luck with documents converted by Office 2007. Only the Acrobat app can open the file.

I say its all about the copyright infringement nonsense going on between Adobe and Microsoft.

Go to your Add/Remove Programs applet and remove Adobe Reader - any entry that shows up there. Then download and install Foxit Reader. It is incredibly light and fast compared to Adobe Reader. Plus, you can read any PDF file that's out there with it.
