its extremely irritating. i have tried pushing the cntrl key with the fn, and the alt key. i have no idea what to do!!!

There is probably some kind of dirt that got under the key.

First, try a vaccuum cleaner to get out any crumbs, etc.

If this doesn't work, try some compressed air, but also use the vaccuum at the same time to corral the dirt it will blow out.

You may need to use an old paint brush to loosen whatever may be stuck underneath the key. I usually use a new "glue" brush from the craft store, since the bristles are long and stiff - they usually work well.

If all else fails, turn off the computer and unplug it from the wall. Have someone help you turn the computer upside down and rock it back and forth, side to side, and even give it some gentle shakes. I've found staples, paper clips and other small metal pieces wedged under keys!
