I was thinking about purchasing a HDMI to Dvi-d cable to hook my xbox 360 to my laptop (i have a new 360 with HDMI imput) and was wondering if that would work . My laptop is a 17inch Dell inspiron E1705 and i do have a Dvi-d in port. Will this work , if so is there anything i have to do to get it to work?

no matter how many times i click on "make yahoo my homepage" it will come up with this site:http://www.malwareburn.com/?aid=246 as my homepage, and when i click on a website on yahoo search or any search engine it comes up with porn websites and i have to press the back button and click on it again before the actuall website comes up? i need help??!!

Does anyone know if they make an adapter or cable to hook the VGA output on my computer to my DVI input on my monitor? I know it will still going to only be vga quality but I want to free up the VGA input on my monitor so I can hook up my Xbox. I looked at adapter but I was told it only goes from DVI to VGA not VGA to DVI. I know I can buy a DVI output card for my computer but I don't want to go through trouble or expense.

Anyone have any ideas?

Our 2 computers run all day but are shutdown about 11PM
1 is used only to read the daily news & use Ebay all day,
the other is for general surfing & uses Piczo & a few small type games.

I have Firefox and I don't need IE anymore. I uninstall it but it's still there and it's so annoying because when I click the little e-mail icon on Yahoo Messenger IE opens up instead of Firefox. What can I do to get rid of it for good?

E.G. - MY pet hate error message:-

why can'te we have

UNKNOWN ERROR - code 43731

something like that - so you know where to bloody go to find out what's the matter with the flaming thing & dare I suggest it - get a reason or list of possible reasons on which to formulate a course of action to rectify said cryptic error message!

Is that too much to ask of these lazy, self-centered smug I want smash their bloody faces in - socially inept weazles that hold us to ransom over our computers?

I have a Compaq Laptop that wont stay on. Sometimes it gets into windows but shuts down. Other times it wont even start up.

I already tried replacing the power supply.

Ethernet Controller, Network Controller, PCI Modem, and PCI Simple Communications all have question marks beside them. During last season's American Idol run, I downloaded and saved a number of videos from YouTube. At that time, they played satisfactorily, both video and audio. Now, when I play those same videos with the same player (which works fine with other videos), they are very dark and I can barely make out the movement on the screen. The audio is still intact. Any ideas as to the cause of the deterioration?

It is telling me that I need to enter server names for both incoming and outgoing mail. I have tried several different options, pop3, imap, smtp, but nothing is working. I don't know if the incoming and outgoing should be different or the same, or even which one goes where..Please help!
