Hey I have a ide 250gb Hard Drive and was going to get another one. I know to set it to slave before installing it to my computer, after that will it show up in 'my computer'?

I have a few others questions too (answer what you know thanks heaps)
- To install programs to my slave/new hard drive, Do i just change the installation path when i am installing the program?
- Will installing a program on my new hard drive (The one i have now has 104gb left) make the program run any faster/slower?
- Will my computer/the programs run any faster?
- If I set my virtual memory to run on my new hard drive which will have most of it free space will it run faster than setting virtual memory on my current hard drive? and what should i set the virtual memory to be (I have 1.5gb Ram)

Final question, Can i install lets say ubuntu on my new hard drive and if so do I set it as slave or master? And how can I choose what OS to boot up at?

I want to send my CV's off to employment agencies and have downloaded Open Office which is meant to be compatible. When I tried a dummy run to my email address it wouldnt work. I saved my CV as Microsoft word 97/2007/XP format! Is it because I am sending it to my machine - if someone has successfully done this on a Vista with Microsoft Works using Open Office can they explain how to do it! I will give 10 points and would be really grateful. Thanks.

I have a laptop, its an older model though. I know it works fine, but i don't know how to connect to the internet? Do I need to buy anything? There is another computer in the house, it's not wireless though. Whenever I try to set it up it says the modem has no dial tone? Am I supposed to enter my phone number or something? Help!!! i hv wasted so many cds while trying to make music,data,picture cds.there are so many reasons to get errors and i dont understand all that.i tried real player and tht worked,but not 4 picture cd.please help and tell me wht options do i cheack n uncheack on nero.i try cd-r,dvd-r.only thing that worked was cd-rw.i could burn all cds well initially but aftr reinstalling software,i duno where the mistake lies.at times com says could not perform disc at once,at times invalid state,other times,could not perform end track,etc.thnks for ur help

I just bought a new copy of the SEGA RALLY REVO game and it doesnt work on my computer. My computer is a core2duo 1.8 Ghz with 1GB of RAM and an INtel D945GCL motherboard. So technically it meets the minimum requirements. Also does the on board graphics of the above mentioned board support the pixel shading feature ? If it doesn't is there anyway how it can be installed(i.e any software or driver updates) . Thanks in advance .

This is weird, but keeps happening. I have Adobe Flash Player 9. Whenever I have to reboot my computer, and sometimes at other occasions, it just seems to disappear. I have run all kinds of anti-virus scans, anti-root kit searches, registry scans, and adaware scans--nothing there. What I have to do when that happens, is FIRST uninstall Flash Player (even though it is not there), and then download it again. Then everything works fine. If I try to download it without first running the July, 2007 version of uninstall, it will not work. Can ANYONE tell me why this keeps happening, and what I have to do to just install it ONCE and not have to go through this annoying routine almost every day? Thanks for any help you can give.

I currently have a Netgear DG834G and the orange light is constantly on the blink and I can get no connection or set up a wireless network. The only problem I can see is that the ADSL/Phone Cable's plastic thing that normally clicks into the modem is broken - does this affect the connectivity of my modem hence I can't get on the internet?? Any ideas?? I'm wondering if it's my modem or the cable. Thanks in advance for the help!!!!

I just got a new Sony vaio laptop. (VGN FZ 150E) and i installed san andreas on it. when i play, at some parts of the city, the game works good, and the graphics are fast, then i go to some other part of the city, the game becomes slow, it stutters, and its hard to play. why is this happening? i have a 128 Mb. graphics card, 2 GB ram, 2 GZH proccesor speed, i dont get it. look up my laptop on sony.com, the model number is on top. plz help other games like NFS underground do the same thing too.

everytime i insert any 31/2 floopy disk in my floppy drive there`s a DID file that is on my floppy disk (i.did) even if i delete it, after a few seconds it will come back again.. and i can`t open any of my file. any help please..

My Father gave my teenage daughter an iMac and he must have set it to limit what she can do. We can get online but can't download anything and have very limited use on sites such as myspace. I don't know anything about Macs as I have windows XP. don't know much about that either lol
