After putting a 1 gig chip into my computer, games that should run super fast (old ones that require low 128 to run and ran fast on 512) now run super slow and crash on my computer? what the hells going on? ive defragged my computer, downloaded the latest drivers for my graphics card, cleaned my disk everything! yet the games are still running slo! whats the problem!? here are my system specs: OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

I changed the name of the user in Control Panel. I also used a registry editor to search for the old owner's name and replace it by mine all over the registry. The old name still shows in some places. For example, when the laptop is locked, the login screen says it can only be unlocked by the logged in user (me) or the PC owner (the old name). Also, when I go to the Task Manager, most of the running processes are running under the old owner's credentials.

What am I missing?

Installed Money on my laptop, and currency in UK GB Pound, but when installing same software on cousins PC, currency shows in dollars. Went into regional settings and language on her PC and changed to English UK, but after reinstalling Money on her PC, US dollars are the still the currency.

Can anyone help please, is there a real techie around who can sort this out

I used to be able to click an option in "preferences" or "properties" before printing which allowed me to print colour images in black and white. But now the option is never open or highlighted and I don't know why it has changed. Would really like the option back. I have tried going into settings but may have missed something. Any ideas please?
Tried uninstall and re-install, looked at settings again not made a jot of difference. Been to Lexmark and waiting for reply.
I am using Lexmark Z601 and Windows xp pro in MS word.

I just got my new laptop which has vista on it. I'm trying to instal and save some files unto my c drive but then it gives this error.

I can't get it to work. My brother just bought it. I installed the CD. I have the cables where they're supposed to be... but I think something is up about how all the lights stay on solid... whether the cable ports are empty or not, all the lights are on solid doesn't move from that state. i removed the plug, but there is still a lot of electricity. nothing is plugged in. i fear this much electricity may damage computer parts.

this has not happened before. now i cannot even touch any part inside, like say to remove a cdrom drive, as i get a mild shock. how do i fix this? like get rid of all the electricity at least before i try to tinker with the parts inside.
