i know how to make quite a few symbols but i cant make the star.

i dont want to make this star (*) or ☼ i want to make one like these --->★☆ i just copied and pasted them but i want to learn the shortcut

the same way as for a ♥ the shortcut would be alt + 3

Try Alt + 9733

I couldn't try this on my own computer as I have a new keyboard that's all screwed up, but it might work out for you. If not, sorry.

Edit-
That one works for the black star, the white star is Alt + 9734 I tried these both on MS Word on my home computer and they both worked.

no, what you want is ascii charts. but the standard 255 character ascii doesn't have that character. At least, I couldn't find it.
So its probably a character in another font, like symbols.
