the 192.168.1.1 is usually the default IP Address of your Linksys WRT54G device.
The first time you power on that WRT54G and plug in the RJ-45 (LAN) into it and into your computer, it'll make itself that particular IP Address; if you're not using DHCP server at your computer.
So all you've got to do is write that IP Address at your web browser to open up the WRT54G website, where you'll be asked to enter the admin password (it's by default too, look it in your manual book).
You may or may not change the IP Address, because as long as you can connect to it without any problem then it's unnecessary to do so.
