i removed the plug, but there is still a lot of electricity. nothing is plugged in. i fear this much electricity may damage computer parts.

this has not happened before. now i cannot even touch any part inside, like say to remove a cdrom drive, as i get a mild shock. how do i fix this? like get rid of all the electricity at least before i try to tinker with the parts inside.

please and thank you.

Put on thick rubber gloves, and put the pc on the ground without carpeting so it becomes "grounded", most of the electrical current will flow into the Earth and it should be more safe than before.
Be warned this can be dangerous.

What you are experiencing is 'static electricity' You probably fell it on the FIRST touch but not after ??

DO NOT touch any part of your internal works without FIRST holding onto the metal case. You can seriously damage electronic devices with static electricity.

Are you using a 3 prong grounding plug? If you are using one of those adapters, you are not grounding the connection and are also at risk.

Unplug it maybe?
Touching anything inside your comp with it on is dangerous.
If you are unplugging it, and it still gives you a shock, press the power button AFTER it is unplugged. This will force the electricity built up in the PSU to disperse into the PC, getting rid of any electricity. Also, if this is happening, you need to buy a new PSU. Your's isn't discharging itself after use (can cause fires).

that is normal. when you remove the plug from the mains there is still some current left on your system. to drain the remaining current, press the power button while it is unplugged. it should be safe to work on your computer. don't forget to touch the metal part of the chassis to discharge whatever static electricity built up on you. this should minimize static damage to your pc components.

try to put a electrical wire like in a washing machine as a ground then after that check your motherboard maybe there's a wire touching the case, try also putting under ur motherboard a plastic jst to prevent the board and case touching each other make sure it is a good plastic check on the electrical shop.

The power pack has a series of capacitors in it that will hold a charge for years. See if there is an plug that will disconnect the power pack from the rest of the computer boards

Ground the computer and ground yourself before you touch it.
