Can any one tell me how good is the AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual-Core 3800+ Processor Please?

i have macafee security on my pc. but but it is acting weird,unable to access sites ,it closes sites,takes forever to access certain sites and is really slow. have defragged, scanned and disc cleaned.... is it possible i have virus or some other nasty bug! if so why was it not detected and how can i get rid of the bl**dy thing. please help it is driving me bl**dy mad

I have a lifebook c series lappy which gets HOT... I thought the fan had packed in but NO.....I can see it whir into action at switch on...but as soon as the OS loads in, the fan stops.

Any idea's ?

I want to get a laptop that is good and also good value,i have looked on ebay and you can get them alot cheaper second hand through auctions which I would like to do. But I'm not sure if it's too risky to do this eg they could easily break or they could be stolen or don't come with warrenty ect so does anyone know if it is worth it? Or is it better in the long run to save up a bit more and get a brand new one with warrenty?

Ok here comes the good part.(Yeah right)after writting them like 2 times they joined me as a friend.I saw that they were not on my friends request list anymore so I thought/think I had been deknyd.Well now they are there.I wrote them asking them what I should do.Be a fan still and or through away there albums.Soon after they joined after deknying me.I just feel as though they felt sorry for me so they added me.Should I feel that way?

My pc is infected with a virus and i was thinking of formating to just have it refreshed unfurtunately it doesn't accept any program when it comes to install any software.

It can read any software but can not install giving a message that there is a file missing.

How do i repair it if it does not take anything.

I just bought 2 1gb sticks of pc2 5300 667mhz for my gateway labtop which currently has 2 512 sticks in it. Will this be compatible with a front bus speed of 533 mhz? The memory the labtop takes is pc2 5300 ddr.

When I am not on my computer I have my screen saver set to come on after 5 minutes and the monitor is to turn off after 30.

Every time I then go to use the computer again after it has been inactive for a while I have an icon showing as active. Whatever icon I have sitting above the start menu is always blinking and highlighted as though it's being clicked on to start running. Nothing is actually running when I look at my applications through the task manager. It brings up something to save in my documents and then won't let me save or cancel anything... I have to restart my computer to make it stop. I have tried changing the icons around and such just to see what happens and it doesn't matter. There is always an icon doing this when I go to use it. It brings up my desktop in the middle of the night sometimes and when I go to check it it's doing this...

Any idea what this is? Why it's happening? How to stop it?

I have an old AMD 256mb computer that after 30 min (more less) it frizzes and after that I have to turn it off and on.
I think It could be a problem with the memory but I don’t wanna make unnecessary expenses for a memory that might be useless
Any recommendations?

well, my computer had a bad virus so i had to get a new one. since then, i havent been able to go on youtube, and alot of other sites with alot of html..all it has is if i click on it, it turns pure white and has a little X on the top left hand corner. when my neice is over at my house, she cant even go on to webkinz or that disney channel thing. i checked the settings, and everything seems to be ok..i enabled everything..but it doesnt help. whats wrong with my computer?
