no such thing as a trojen, but a trojan horse virus is a virus that you get infected with by an action you initiate - generally opening an attachment via email that contains the infection. MS Word/Excel/Powerpoint and -of course - *.exe files are the worst offenders. I have heard of some PDF based trojans.

A trojan is a program that you download a run because it says it's "Need for Speed" or something that you really want.
The program is actually not what you want but a virus meant to do your computer harm.
