I posted this a while ago but it got cut before I got back. Tanx for all and any help...
I got a hand me down pc and I want to upgade the RAM to 1GB. The original specs are...
K7S5A motherboard
AMD Athlon processor 1.16Ghz
NVIDIA GeForce2 mx100/200
Ms windows xp sp2
pc2100 256Mb RAM DDR/CL 2.5

There are two DDR slots and two SDR slots on this motherboard. I understand that you cannot mix DDR and SDR.
I got two pc3200 DDR 400mhz SD Ram 512Mb cards and inserted them in DDR slots one and two.
It's only reading the 512 in the DDR2 slot and so although there's a gig in there, it's only giving me 512.
Why is it not reading/recognising the other one...?
I've checked out the ram in the slots and both 512s are reading, indivually, when placed in the 2nd slot.
No sign of life from the 1st slot...(no boot when there's only a ram in the 1st slot and the 2nd slot is empty)

Is that repairable...?
Or realistically am I looking at getting a new motherboard...?
Any recommendations...

I was on the internet and i downloaded something and now i keep getting pop-ups, i use IE and pop-up blocker is running but i constantly keep getting pop-ups in a new IE window, i have AVG free and i ran a scan and nothing came up but i used yahoo Anti-Spy and it found over 100 tracking cookies and something else, so i removed all and i used the same scan and it found all the same stuff again, this is really bothering me because they are adult pop-ups sometime and i need to get rid of these! please tell me how and what to do step by step ( DO NOT TELL ME ANYTHING THAT I NEED TO BUY BECAUSE I WONT BUY ANYTHING)

working wit headers and page numbering in a document with multiple sections - I am following the instructions in the 'help' index and use to have no problem in word 2003 - but it isn't working for me in word 2007. I want to be able to change the headers and page numbering as I go along in a multiple page document. I know I need to create section breaks and click the 'link to previous' button to break the link headers, but that isn't working. Anyone know what I could be doing wrong - maybe it's just the order I am doing things in, maybe it's just the type of section break I am using (page and section break)- I was on the phone with Microsoft help 'helping them' to create a sample document for an hour before I hung up. I have spent many, many hours trying to figure this out.

Hey all.... I just got a Dell AllinOne printer and the ink cartridges are SPENDY but I could get the bottles full of ink and refill my own cartridges for CHEAP. Does anyone here know how reliable or good this method is???????????

i have windows vista(dell inspiron 5315),,the printer is a dell all in one--A940-----ive uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and its not a hard drive prob because it wouldnt work the first day i got my computer----the ink cartriges are fresh and alligned and all that------------but it jsut wont work

I have some songs that are 128 kbit which is normal when i hear it on my laptop but when i put it on my phone and then plug it in the car it sounds so boring! Is thre any software that converts 128 kbit to something at least 400 kbit? Is there any site that has downloads 400 kbit?

i am probably talking the basic spec computers but why are laptops coming down in price?

looking in Asda they have a brand new Acer laptop £275
with windows Vista, wireless enabled good sized hardrive etc etc.

My theory is that there a lot of products on the market now that will access the internet ie :- pda's, mobile phones etc etc and computers are now competing against these items if people only want to access the internet and nothing else.
