Gotta do the math!

A floppy disk holds 1.44MB. Many jpegs are around 400KB to 1MB. That'd get you about 1-3 images on a floppy, if that much. Check the free space on the floppy drive (open My Computer, right-click on the floppy and select Properties) versus the total space the pictures would take up. If you have enough space, you can either copy and paste the files or drag and drop them.

I'd suggest using a USB key flash drive, using the network, or burning a CD to transfer the pictures if that's what you need to do. Otherwise, you'll be stuck with taking probably no more than a half dozen pictures on a floppy.

Yes, you can. But the pictures have to be low in megabytes, as a floppy drive will only hold 1.38 megabytes of data.

Formatted capacity of a floppy is 1.38 megabytes. Total size of an unformatted floppy disk is 1.44 megabytes.

To insert a picture to a floppy, insert a formatted floppy and then highlight the picture and right click your mouse on the highlighted picture, scroll down to "sent to" and there select "floppy drive A".

It would be better to burn them to a CD or a removable drive like a USB flash memory stick.

Yes, you could. The problem is that picture files are often quite large. You should use some sort of compression program to compress the files down to a much smaller size. A good free one I recommend is 7-Zip:

Also, there are some programs that can format a floppy disk to hold more data, like this one:

Here is an interesting article on how to get more space out of a floppy:
