Hi, im going to buy a new desktop and i have built a PC from HP and Dell. the HP was incredibly cheaper than the Dell with both machines having the same things in them.

I have a Dell XPS laptop and i love the support they have given me.

My question is this: Does HP have the same level of support Dell has? Online? in home? Phone?

I have a three year old Compaq, that, in the last 2 days has started to act up. When I turn it on, I get the wonderful Compaq menu (The one where you have ESC, F1 for Settings, and F10 for a system restore), well, it will go from that screen, which is normal for booting up, to a blank black screen with a flashing curser, like in old DOS. Then, it stops. My only option is to turn off the computer, which I can do by hitting ctrl, alt, del, and will restart the comp. After a few reboots, it eventually starts up, and computer is ready to use.
My question, what the heck is going on and how can I stop this! It just started and is quite annoying. Took me half an hour today just to get my comp to come on and stay on.

Whats going on? For the past week my computer has been running slow.Sometimes I cant get in.I have high speed satalite or is it Yahoo.Or is it my computor?I have cleared my cookies,files on and off line and cleared the history.I also went and removed all unused files in favorites.It took me three minutes just to log on to answers.What do i do?

I have a socket 478 celeron d processor with a thermal take tiny fin p4 cooler on it but the fan on top of the heatsink blows onto the processor instead of taking the heat off. is this normal or what , another thing is that the cooler is rated for 2.4ghz but my processor is 2.53, do i need another cooler because of this or will this one do. if i need a need one should i make sure that it blows onto or off of the processor?

I have some questions, i bought Guild Wars Nightfall like 2 weeks ago, but my video card couldn't stand it (Intel 8245G Graphics Controller of 64Mb), so I'm planning on buying a nvidia geforce series 7 video card (7600 GS PCI of 256Mb or 7300 LE of 128MB to be precise) so i wanted to know if it's good enough to run Guild Wars. I'm using a Dell OptiPlex GX260 with a processor Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.0 GHz and 1 Gb of RAM. So the questions are:

1. Is my pc good enough to stand the video card?

2. Is the video card good enough to run the game(I don't want it to run at high performance, just run it good medium or low quality i don't care) because with mine it keeps crashing since it's not good enough?

3. Are there any other good video cards that are same price or near to that (7300 LE is $35 and 7600 GS is $65)?

4. Also, is it too difficult to install it?

I got a new laptop; it says it's got wireless something installed inside. My house runs a Telus modem. The desktop runs by wires that connect to the modem and then to the phone line.
How do I use this "wireless" on my laptop?

this morning i went on myspace and i went to an artist page to add a music player thing. the problem is that when i got there, a yellow bar on the top of my page said

"Internet Explorer has blocked this site from using an ActiveX control in an unsafe manner. As a result, this page may not display correctly."

this keeps comming up and so the music won't play every time i click it.

i right clicked it like what i do with all the yellow bars that come up and click "install active control". but in this one, all it says is "go for more information" and it doesn't help me at all because i can't unblock it. i went to the search thing and typed in "unblock" and only two topics came up and it wasn't at all what i've been searching for.

even so, i ignored it and went on my profile to add music without a player that has a "pause" and "play" button.
the yellow bar still came up! so i can't even play music on my own page.

what do i do? i can't listen to music on myspace with this.

I haven't seen this reported before but other people must have been targeted - have you ?
It goes something like this :
You've got something you want to sell for maybe £200, let's say. You advertise and someone gets in touch with you, maybe asks questions, and says yes, it's what they want. Then there's a complication, or a delay, maybe the buyer's partner had to go into hospital but no matter, they still want to buy.
For some reason, they end up sending you a cheque from an overseas bank that you've never heard of and it's for more than you were asking, maybe ten times more. You might get told it's a mistake or some other story. The buyer says that's OK, just send them a cheque for the difference.
Do you think the buyer's cheque is going to clear ? No, nor do I.
The examples I've come across have involved some long-winded and very dubious-looking e-mails. The style suggests a Nigerian source (yet again).
Have you experienced anything similar ?

I heard that AMD processor is much faster than intel, but AMD is not completely compatible with microsoft softwares, i touched that before years when "windows millinium" was used, i got a message during installing "windows millinium" says" windows protection error".

Sometimes when im scrolling down a page using the side bar the mouse drags the page down after i am done scrolling with the side bar. So when i am pressing down the side bar to scroll down and let go of it and the mouse still scrolls the page down.
