What bugs?
Been running Vista Premium for the past 2 weeks, and haven't found a single bug, all my games and programs run perfectly, and I'm happy.
Now, let me ask you something, how long has XP been out there? Microsoft is already planning the launch of Service Pack 3 for XP, that means its not perfect - in other words, it has bugs. Do you think Vista, or any other OS out there will ever be perfect?

I got an HP Desk top with Windows Vista in it, it's OK is just that since Vista is still new in the market it has its little problems in it like for example you can't really download much programs in it. If I was you I would wait at least until next year but if you really need a Laptop go for one that has XP in it then later on you could upgrade you computer with Windows Vista the only problem right now with Vista is that if you change from XP to Vista you can't go back with XP. Hope it helps, good luck.

Every new operating system has bugs when it first comes out XP was a lot worse than Vista is when it first came out. Problem with Vista is that you have retards trying to put it in without first doing any homework to see what they have that will or will not work on their old obsolete machines so they blame it on Vista. They're too cheap to spend $50 to add ram to run an operating system that does a lot more than XP. People who have done their homework don't have any probs with Vista its only the crybabies who shouldn't be putting a brand new OS in in the first place because they don't have the smarts to get it to run right. If you buy a brand new machine and upgrade it with lots of ram you won't have any more probs as you would with XP. Make sure you get a Premium version of Vista because home basic doesn't have Aero which is really nice. XP is yesterday's news.

Windows Vista doesn't have a laptop but many other manufacturers make laptops and many retailers SELL laptops.
Most laptops are now already loaded with Vista (Operating System) OR a Mac laptop with an Apple OS (Operating System).
So I guess what you meant to ask is:
Can I get a laptop that has Windows Vista loaded on it?
YES, you can, the version is up to you.
Here's some free advice, get Vista Premium cuz it will do more and you sound like you could use it ;-).
As for the bugs, well I have had no problems with it, many people say they have, but from what I read, it is their own fault (probably they are trying something they shouldn't).
Your wait is over, buy it now, as for the brand name, that's up to you. Get a reputable brand.
I happen to like HP (Hewlett Packard) as they have been most helpful and given me a lot of good advice.
PS: Do some research in computers with a good zine (magazine) to get you up and running and there is a lot of help with the OS.
;-)

Before you buy you need to find out if the programs you own now will work with Vista or if you will have to upgrade them also. It can cost alot to get everything you have working. Some programs won't work on Vista. Others will work with an upgrade or by telling Vista to run it a certain way. Some programs will keep telling you that you can't use them unless you are signed under Administrator--even when you are signed in as Administrator. It's just a different platform & things are going to have to learn to work together. You'll probably be well pleased with it in the end, but just realize that you may have to work around some of your favorite programs to have things working like you did in XP. Good luck!

My brother has had windows vista for a while and everything seems fine, and they have been fixing those bugs ever since they sent Vista out into the world so the major bugs have been fixed already.

You certainly can get a laptop with Vista. In fact, I think you would have a difficult time getting one with XP. Vista will take some relearning, so I suggest you read these articles before you go Vista:

Can your computer be upgraded to Vista?
Whether your PC can be updated depends on when you purchased your computer.
Here are some general rules of thumb to get you started.
If your PC was purchased between Oct. 26, 2006 and Mar. 15, 2007 then you are eligible for the FREE Express Upgrade to Windows Vista.**
If your PC isn't "Windows Vista Capable*" use the Microsoft Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor to get a recommendation for the edition of Windows Vista that is right for you.
If your PC is more than 1 year old - check first with the Microsoft Windows Vista Advisor Tool.
The Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor will help you to determine if your Windows XP-based PC can run Windows Vista.

Compatibility with older programs
There is no trouble loading earlier versions of MS Office such as Office 2003 on computers running the Vista operating system.
On the downside, there are vexing compatibility issues because Microsoft added so many bells and whistles to Office 2007 that they can be contained only in a new file type such as .docx in Word.
Unfortunately, .docx files cannot be read by the earlier versions of Office, so Microsoft offers a compatibility pack that can be downloaded to let Office 2000/XP/2003 view Office 2007 documents but with a number of features of 2007 absent.
Go to www.support.microsoft.com and use the search term “Office 2007 compatibility.”

You can buy a laptop with vista on it, you can go to almost any computer place and get it. Vista has been said to have bugs, but it is more if you are more advanced in computer use and still if you are advanced you may not get any bugs, but there is a chance.

hi Lee, i could take homestead windows 7 for a attemptpersistent and make your very own determination. You pc is YOUR gadget, not mine. no one elses. i've got faith you're able to desire to be waiting to beta attempt homestead windows 7. So, that is advisable to objective that first. Vista is a powerful OS, and could be around for it sluggish nevertheless. So, the two way MS has ya by the quick hairs. that could be a private determination wherein no one yet you additionally could make. that is like giving suggestion on your spouse's alternatives in mattress. Are you going to submit with that? LOL! or you profession, i'm unlikely any further with those.
