I downloaded a game and extracted the file but it says its a bin file and it wont open when i click open it says this THE ARCHIVE IS EITHER IN UNKNOWN FORMAT OR DAMAGED Can someone please tell what i could do??

My old hard disk with Windows XP on it crapped out, and I do not want to reinstall and fix it myself. I am planning to buy a new hard disk and install windows XP from the same CD that I used to install XP on my old Hard disk. Will there be any Problems? Will there be prompts for any drivers?

One of a Yahoo answerer answered me to install this "Lavasoft's ad-aware" from the download.com.He said that my pc might have a key logger,so he insited me to install this to remove everything it finds.
Should i have to do that?Whats that actually?Pls guide friends.

I have a Compaq laptop that I want to wipe my hard drive for. I also have the hard drive from my old PC hooked up to an external hard drive case.

I want to wipe the old hard drive via the external hard drive hook up, transfer all my important files from my laptop to my external hard drive, then wipe my laptop's hard drive. Then I'll install Windows Vista, and transfer all my files back from my old hard drive to my laptop.

How do I actually wipe the hard drives, and what is the best method of doing all this?

Why do I have to eject my iPod and USB drives. I've taken them out of the computer before without pressing the 'eject button' (if that's what it's called) and everything was fine.

When I type in word or something, of course it is there guiding me, but when I am on the internet, why does it start blinking wherever you last click the mouse as if it was a text document that you could edit? It gets annoying because I am not used to it being there and I would just rather it not appear every time I am on the internet and I click the mouse on a random place on the page.

If someone claims to have hacked into my computer....can they really get into my bank account without knowing the password to the security question the bank asks for? I DO NOT have the password saved onto my computer. And whats the worse that could happen if someone hacks into my computer? I dont have anything private saved into my computer. My computer was coming up with an error for lsass.exe, and restarting my computer repeatedly. On the last attempt it brought Windows up and is working fine, but I'm afraid that if I shut it down it will not come back up. Should I restore my computer to the date it last worked properly? Or will it potentionally mess my computer up further? I've run a virus scan, and it is not the virus. I believe it is a problem with the system settings. And will restoring it to a previous date more than likely fix the issues I am having?

Both of my harddrives were detected after I set looked through the BIOS. I built this computer myself. I booted from the disk and I had no hard drive to install to. Any idea why ?

Someone suggested only having one harddrive connected while I try this.
