My other computer is a couple years old and my mouse was working fine until today after I turned it on the mouse on the computer is frozen. I changed the batteries to the mouse and still wouldn't work. On computer you can type the keys on the keyboard and it works, but the mouse won't move.

my computer says 300 w on the sticker inside and the card i got says min of 350 can i put it in? or will it mess up the computer or card?

My problem: I have 6 point of sale terminals which have 32mb or 64mb compact flash cards for hard drives.

I am trying to replace these with 1GB cards. I did this for one machine a few months ago using the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool. However, when I'm trying to do it now I keep getting Non System disk errors.

Can anyone help - any alternatives would be appreciated.

FYI, I do have a compact flash reader that plugs into my XP computer.

I have 2 DDR RAM Modules that actually say DDR on the label, and I have 2 that dont say DDR, they just say Kingston KVR something something, and they say SDRAM. They fit and work in the same slots that the DDR was in. Does that mean they are DDR also.? In other words, does each type of RAM have its own identifyable slot configuration??

My comp is no longer detecting my USB flash drive. I tried the device manager with every single USB port on my comp but my flash drive was still not detected. If anyone knows how to fix this please tell me. Is there any other way to transfer files between 2 of my computers? A macbook and a PC.

I had installed Windows Vista Ultimate Edition on my HP dv5000 laptop some time ago. When i did, everything was working in order, and I was able to automatically plug and play usb devices and automatically install drivers. However about a week back, I had a virus, and I simply reformatted my OS, and reinstalled Vista. However since ive done that Ive been having problems with USB Devices. Everytime I plug in a device (lets say ext. hardrive) it will automatically search for the driver, but will fail to find it. Then Windows will look for a solution, but it wont find it, hence resulting into a failure. Hence I cannot use my USB device, and now days most devices dont release drivers since windows usually detects it. Is this a common problem? Is there any way to fix this? My Vista is up-to-date upgrade wise, so I know it cannot be that. What do you suggest?

I hate wear and tear on my machines, so I have external versions of everything, USB extenders, mice, keyboards. Though the external things also take a beating, and I want something to use at the school, because they don't clean the keyboards or mice there after so many people have used it.

That's why I'm looking for a keyboard with either a mouse touchpad in it or a nub that is USB attached so all I have to do is plug and play. That way I'll be able to use school computers without touching the nasty input devices there. And I'll be able to use it seemlessly here at home without putting much wear and tear on my machines.

Long story short, where can I find a keyboard and mouse in one that is USB connected?

i have been having this problem for over 6 months. it goes away somtimes n works fast other times it is snail speed slow n it gets me really mad
i was thinkin about completely erasing the hardrive n reinstalling windows?

i tried using avast n it found one infected file n i moved it to the chest. i than ran spy bot search n destroy n fixed everything and what not

i then did disk clean up, n am in the process of doing my first defragmentation (im only using 31 gbs about froma 150Gb hardrive) so this seems to be something that will take some time

anyway

what can i do to make my computer faster?

and is it a good idea to reformat the harddrive n reinstall windows

last time i installed windows n accidently made it a diff folder not installing over the 1st one

so now i ahev two layers of windows on my hardrive i guess?

and plus when i reinstalled something happened n my windows media center wnt work

I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 1721 Laptop. It came in the post pretty much all ready to go, but I can't find any literature with it explaining how I go about using this thing when I'm not plugged in on my cable connection at home. I never owned a laptop before, and obviously I don't know much at all about computers, so I am baffeled on how a laptop works when I take it out of the house. Are there certain cards or devices I need to plug in here somewhere when let's say I want to take it with me to a library? If somebody could walk me through this basic stuff about laptops, I'd really appreciate your help. I need a basic Laptop 101 lecture, if you will. By the way, is there a difference between a laptop and a notebook? And what is Wi-Fi?

I still have my old hard drive. but I need files off of it. I'm even considering sticking it into an older computer and see if it will work. I have a flash drive that I can plug into a usb and copy the files from that. I'm just not sure it my hard drive will work in the other computer. So if it doesn't, am I screwed?
