All a Matter of prespective. If you are useing dial up then YES it is VERY fast. BUt if you have a speed of 2000+ mbps downloads or super fast cable conections...of 5000-10000. then yes it's very slow. But again if you get a price similar to dial up on that conection then ya go for it.

Nowadays this is quite slow, many providers offer 8Mbps. Are you sure they are giving 768 kbps or 768 kBps, this is about a thousand times faster.

It will say "Up to 768 download" it does not mean you will always get that. Hence the "Up to"
Upload speeds are still low. If you have 8meg download and I have 8meg download. Both of us only have half a meg upload. If I send you a file you will only get it at half a meg.
Only torrents really use the full amount of speed.

Not really... Maybe for checking email/looking at websites but not for doing online gaming/big file downloading.

it depends where ur coming from. if ur coming from dial-up, yes it wil be very fast, though cable internet is much faster.
