I don't use IE, but maybe try to uninstall some toolbars.
IIRC, I read somewhere google/yahoo toolbars would cause memory issues (like the one you are having right now).
If you have one of them try removing it to see if it helps.

Well, his answer tells you to delete all temporary files but doesn't give any indication that he knows what is actually wrong. Personally I used ForeFox most of the time but also use the Avant wrapper for MSIE. If you want to use FireFox then follow his instructions.

You might have picked up a virus or some spyware or adware, so download and run AdAware and see if that helps.

In the end, if MSIE crashes while it's closing do we care? Not really.

for XP users only
start up in safe mode (F8)
go into the following folders and delete all the contents

kill everything in them, spare NONE !

C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Local Settings\Temp

C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

After that scan for virus and spyware if u have the program/s. Then restart in normal

startup and see if this continues. If it does then i strongly and urgently request you to

reinstall your Operating System

Then when u get connected to the net

download
http://firefox.com and use this instead of Internet Explorer

it means you have a crappy PC, you should buy a Mac! they don't get these stupid error messages that you have no clue what they are freakin talkin about! oh, and they don't get viruses, spyware, and all that crap that comes with PC's. and they never slow down over time, even if you load it up with a ton of programs!
