A Wireless mouse is a major pain. Look for LIGHTS when it is turned on and when you press buttons on it.
Many of these have a SYNC button on the sender unit. That should light up when you press it.
Let's assume that this is a USB mouse. Try starting the computer with that NOT plugged in. Then insert the sender unit's USB plug IN after it is completely restarted. See if the SYNC button has any effect. Try a different USB port.
Just get a new mouse if none of this gets that lazy rat working again.
Good luck and Happy Computing!

Hi. Using batteries means you have a wireless mouse. Find the receiver and try to re-sync the mouse. (Usually press 'connect' on the receiver then 'connect' on the mouse.)

People post this question a lot. The usual cause is an ancient and cheap mouse that has finally broken down. Just buy a new one.

the mouse wont be recognized if you plugged it in after you booted the computer up. i suggest shutting off you computer unplugging the mouse and plugging it back in and then booting your comp up. if that doesnt work then its time for a new mouse
