Im trying to set up Media Center through my xbox 360 and it says my network hardware supports 802.11A and I should reconfigure my wireless network for 802.11A. How do i go about doing this? I have a Linksys WRT54G router and windows vista 64.

Are you sure it states 802.11a or is it Automatic in your routers settings? 802.11a is normally used by businesses and the xBox 360 can use either 802.11b or 802.11g and I am not sure, but I think the xBox 360 now also supports protocol 802.11n, which is the fasted internal network speed and farther range than the others.

I do think your instructions are actually telling you to set your router to Automatic, rather than that it is only compatible with the 802.11a wireless network protocol.

Good luck and much enjoyment of your new media center!

You should have the wireless router or access point set to automatic, this lets it select matching protocols to the connecting equipment.
