I'm troubleshooting a connectivity issue - the subnet mask assigned by my Internet service to my wireless router is different than the subnet mask assigned to my computers by the router. Does this have to be the same to be able to connect to the Internet? Currently, I have no connectivity from the computers, but can ping sites from the router...

All notebooks come with DVD burners. The NEC says 4X whilst the ACER 4233 says 2X. What does this mean?

There is a site a came upon that says if you are running Vista Home Basic you can go into the registry, change two values and you can use aero. Has anyone tried this and is it safe to do?

The other night my computer forze up so I did a manual shut down. when I turned it back on the Windows Selection Screen comes up I have tried all of the start up options with the same results I hit enter and the computer shuts down again. I figured it was a problem with Windows so I tried to boot the Windows CD it starts checking the system configurations and shuts down again. the CPU is running at 79 degrees C I took off the fan and heatsink cleaned them off dust I did notice that the stuff that goes between the heatsink and Processor is dry . . . could that be a problem? and if so what is that stuff called?

I do alot of typing for my job at the moment and im constantly having to click the mouse to highlight, copy and paste a word.

I know there are certain keys on the keyboard you can press to do this instead of using the mouse.

Any ideas what they are?

I took the HD from another computer and added it to my current one through an external connection. This worked well, but it only migrates info between the 2 drives that isn't password protected. The external drive has Windows XP Home on it, my pc has XP Pro. I can migrate to an extent, but the external drive was password protected, the internal is not. There seems to be no way I can get the password page to come up so I can access my files on the external while using the internal Pro... If I boot from the external, it would seem that I can then enter the password and get my stuff out. Help would be appreciated.

I have a bunch of already written MS WORD documents I want to connect to my wordpress blog so there can be a hyperlink in a blog entry that links back to the word files on my computer for readers to check out. Can I do this? If not, how can I achieve the same effect? Wordpress documentation gets me confused about this.

If I have a column that records multiple figures in any given cell i.e b2 might contain 1,3,4 - b3 3,5,6 etc. What formula would I write to count up how many 3's, 4's 5's etc there are? I can get the result using autofilter by asking to filter for 'contains or equals 3' or 'contains or equals4' etc but I need a formula. What should I write?
