They both have their plusses, Macs are generally more stable and run faster. But, Windows has many more programs to choose from.

Macs. Why? Because I've been using them for two years now and I love them. I was a PC user for a long time, but no more. Macs are faster, more stable, more secure, better looking, have better software and are extremely versatile. Why bother with a PC when a Mac can run both Mac OS X and Windows? Windows on a Mac is no different than Windows on a PC. This means that I have access to more software than any PC user. Even though I can run Windows, I hardly ever use it. I do everything in Mac OS X. I'm very happy using a Mac. PCs are just junk. I'll never buy a PC again.

PC cheerleaders will quickly give me the thumbs down, but that's okay. I don't hate them. Someday they'll understand why Macs are better. Most of them will buy a Mac eventually. I've converted some of the most hardcore PC users I know into Mac users. They love their new Macs. You see, PC users don't know anything about the Mac because most of them have never used one, aside from maybe high school. Most high school Macs are a little behind the times and are not loaded with the most recent Mac OS X release and all the great software that I use every day. Therefore, PC users generally know nothing about the Mac. They just repeat the same talking points over and over and over and over and over... without any knowledge whatsoever. I know this because I used to be one of those PC cheerleaders. I have seen the light, drank the Kool Aid. Macs are better.

It doesn't "emulate" a PC, it has the capability of running PC operating systems natively or in a virtual machine, which is not emulation. Why bother? It's nice to know it can be done, if it's ever needed. Unfortunately, there's a lot of legacy software out there that requires the use of Windows. It's the whole monopoly thing. Do I use Windows? Rarely. I only use it to play ONE game and it's a game I think I can live without. I might just erase my Windows partition.

That is one of the age old questions for computers....

Macintosh has a lot of plusses but it also has a lot of drawbacks. The new MacOS X is indeed a fine operating system and is quite easy to use. That said .. a lot depends on what you want to do with the computer.
Macintosh comes with a bunch of software for use in video editing -- while all great and dandy, it's not much better than Microsoft's Movie Maker.... to get the professional level from a Macintosh you are doing the same as you would have to on a PC -- buy the $1000 software.
So the commercials from Apple boasting about all the great stuff Macintosh comes with 'out of the box' is a bunch of poop.

To all the people who say that Macintosh is so much easier than a PC to use basically haven't really tried to use either. You buy one machine and then stay with it for years and years and retain the mentality that you had 10 years ago.
Since Windows 2000 came out the PC has become a LOT more 'user friendly' and works great.
People complain of the BSoD (Blue Screen of Death)... ok, wait until you get a Kernel Panic Error.

Back in the 80's and early 90's Apple held the educational market. Those days are gone. Schools have adopted the PC now as the main computers mainly because they are a lot less expensive than a Mac. $2500 for a computer? It's just painful to see the prices sometimes.

I used to be a "MacHead" but for the past 15 years I have used PCs mostly and have had nothing but good experiences.

Neither. I'm converting to Ubuntu. You can build your own PC (Motherboards actually come with detaild directions.) so much cheaper it should be a crime not to. Linux is very secure and has engough freeware to keep you happy. If you looking for bells and whistles and cool OS get a mac.
