i'm not sure if my laptop can get upgrades beacause i heard not all of them can. it's a silver compaq i can't remember the model name. pentium dual core processor with windows vista 80gb memory 32mb video card (hence why i want new one.) thanks for the help

with Vista and a DC CPU, its very possible that the amount of ram the onboard video has is scaleable and Compaq/HP just set it initally as 32 MB to keep as much system RAM available to the OS as possible.. next time you start it up, go into the BIOS, find the video settings, and see if you can adjust that up (i suspect you can probably go up to at least 128 MB.. possibly 256)

What you want is SO EASY to do on a desktop PC but impossible to do on your laptop. Your only option is to sell that and buy a new laptop. With gaming in mind, you should choose GPU first then the processor second. Get one w/ a Geforce Go 7xxx graphics. Best would be DX10 graphics like the Geforce 8600M/8700M.

graphic cards on laptop are part of the motherboard

u can't upgrade them.
