I want Outlook to download messages only when I tell it to.

I'm running Outlook 2007 on Windows Vista. It's a foreign language environment, so I don't know what menu to look under, and I don't know Outlook well in any language. Clear instructions would be appreciated. Thanks

No answers yet, so maybe this isn't clear. What I want to do is open Outlook and push the button to send and receive mail. I don't want my mail to be downloaded automatically when I open Outlook, and I don't want Outlook to download my mail when I click on a mailto link. This is because I sometimes want the messages in my Inbox on Yahoo to stay there where I can get to them rather than be on my home computer where I can't. Thanks.

Alrighty then. Lemme take a whack at this.

Open up Microsoft Outlook and go to Tools>>Options.
Go to the Mail Setup Tab and click on Send/Receive.
In the Send/Receive Groups window, uncheck the boxes that say "Schedule an automatic send/receive".
Close the open dialogs and that should do it !!

Good Luck!
