All notebooks come with DVD burners. The NEC says 4X whilst the ACER 4233 says 2X. What does this mean?

any help would be aprciated greatley.

The higher the number, the faster it will burn. So, 4x will burn faster than 2x.

Thats the max speed the burner can burn a DVD.

2x means 2 times of a reference speed
when speed increaces accuracy become lower

4x means it can burn the DVD at four times playback speed, and 2x means it burns at twice playback speed.

thats burn speed the nec will burn dvds faster than the acer

that is the speed of the drive.
