in the history of your computer all the links from that day that u have seen has been removed from the history toolbar the computer saves it other places. how do i find that? i am looking for a link for the internet that i have been to and deleted from history.

I can't believe it has come to this... I tried Symantec but they have made themselves pretty much unreachable unless one is willing to pay dearly, minute per minute, to get some help. I have emailed them 4 times on the matter over the course of 4 weeks...no replies at all. It's not in my bulk folder either! So...hopefully someone out there has a good knowledge about the product.

I purchased Norton Ghost in case of a major problem, I could restore my system. But there is no way to really know how it performs until a problem actually happens. I went by word of mouth. Now that I have to restore my system, the blasted product will not do it.

This is what happens. My back up is located on an external hard drive driven by usb 2.0 but will do 1.0. I restart with the cd in the drive to get into the restore environment. It never does reach this restore environment. It gives me options to install 2.0 or other things but leads me to a dos prompt that never goes into a restore envirnment.

A couple months ago our computer died. My husband was burning a CD and he heard a popping sound and then smelled a slight burning smell. We didn't know what happened (still not sure; computer is only a year old PC-intel celeron it says on the tower). Anyway, we had it fixed and they replaced a couple important things. It works again, is a lot slower than before, but seems to be normal besides that. However, every single night it turns on by itself (around four or five AM I think). Why is this and and what on earth can I do to fix it? Is it dangerous for the computer? Please help!

I have registered my domain name already. Is there a programme or a book that you would recommend to help me. I don't know a huge amount about it but I have common sense, I am willing to try and do it myself and I am a quick learner!

My old hard drive froze and I ordered a new one which I'm using. Can I remove the new dard drive without losing any data and reincert the old drive to repair it and then reinstall the new hard drive in my laptop. Thank you.

I recently sent a word doc to myself through hotmail, opened the doc to continue working on it but i forgot to specify when i saved it and closed it down, it didnt prompt me to change the name or choose the save path, i've tried searching for the file name but i cant find it, i can only fine the file name in temp internet files and even then it only takes me 2 my hotmail page.
Plus, the file names that i do find are in a folder that i cant manually locate, i can paste the path in the address bar from the search window but when i try and go Docs&settings>me, there is no local settings folder and no temporary internet files folder, anyone know why this is?

i have tiscali broadband and when i try to connect i get error 680 no dial tone.ive rung the call centre over and over again.i do everything i,m told turn all the phones off change the filters uninstall reinstall nothing.i have a d-link modem with only the power light on.my brother inlaw has tiscali too so i tried installing his speedtouch modem with his disc,still the same no dial tone.i tried installing my modem on my mates laptop still the same no dial tone.so i know its not my pc playing up.anybody got any ideas please,if you have can you reply in simple terms because i,m not that good with pc,s cheers anybody

:(( PLEASE! it deleted all my high school pictures---all the memories :(
My virus scanner (AVG) cannot seem to clean it (error). I tried to delete it manually, but I can't! The path indicated on AVG is C:\Program Files\microsoft frontpage and whenever I try to delete it, it says the files are being used--yet there are no files inside (probably hidden)!
Whenever I try to open C:\ by double clicking, a message shows up saying "cannot find the script file C:\autorun.vbs" what?!
I can't seem to access task manager to end the file, either...
I don't want to lose any other files!! HELP
