I have just started downloading films using torrent files. To save space on the PC I wanted to be able to save them to disc. I have bought TDK DVD+R 1-16x 4.7gb Data/video. However i just cannt seem to save the film to disc, have I got the right discs? Please explain in laymens terms as I get lost with too much technical detail.

A friends Grandmothers computer has had some viruses on it and she's been wanting to get it to me to fix. I'm not really sure if viruses can cause these kinds of problems. Anyway i have it now and when you plug it in the power button is lit up (shouldn't be till you push power) and nothing comes on. I'm not even getting the power supply fan. I've tried a different power supply and unpluged everything and it's still the same story. I thought maybe it was the switch itself but i jumped the motherboard and still nothing. It would be cheaper to buy a new pc than to replace the processor or motherboard in this one and I know emachines are junk but i hate to see her have to buy a new pc because of what this crappy company calls a product. Anyway I was hoping that someone would have some other ideas as to what i could try.

Changed the default program to paint shop because I wanted to make pictures sizes smaller so I can email pictures, however when I did they changed in image quality now I can't find the original program that opened them, would it be easier to just restore the entire computer to before I changed the program.

i have recently put windows vista on and most of my existing software wont work. i know there is an upgrade from nero 6 to nero 7 i have downloaded it twice and it doesnt work. each time taking about 1 and a half hours only to find out it's a trial version which is bit unfair as well cos this version i only bought a couple of months ago

It has been doing this for about a couple of months. My bf put in new memory and an additional hard drive, but the problem still persists. Should i have the old (first hard drive) taken out...would that fix it. I've tried recovery disks, done maintenance, ran virus protections....

1) Where are the temp internet files, cookies etc. In XP they were in User\Local Settings but Vista doesn't seem to have these folders.

2) Similar Q - Where do I place a shortcut so the file opens on start up (not progs that can be set in msconfig but files such as a web page or Word doc). There used to be a Start Up folder in Local Settings in XP.

my camera is kodak DX4530. I inserted the memory card into my card reader it says that it should be format, but then my pictures are all there. how can i retrieve my pictures before the formatting procedure takes place? im so desperate to get my pictures from it. please help me find out answers and please help me retreve pictures from it. please.. im so so so desperate.. i need my pictures so badly.. please... i need your response and hopefully we can make things work out. i really really need my files from it. please... m begging you.. please.... what else can i do?? please help me..

I have a laptop running XP Operating System. I have a wireless card and have been going "wireless" at home for the past 3 or 4 months. All of a sudden, I am unable to get into Internet Explorer. In the lower right hand of the screen it tells me I'm connected and my signal strenght is excellent, but I am not able to gain access to the internet. I was told by a friend that I have lost my IP address. It is defaulting to 192.blah.blah.blah and 192 is a windows default IP address. Does anyone know how to fix this issue, I have tried about everything, including disabling the antivirus software....to no avail. HELP!!!

The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite and it's a little old.Awhile ago the screen wasn't bending in every position and now it either has to be shut or all the way bent back because that's the only way I can use it.Or I have to hold it with my left hand and type with my right hand...that's inconvenient.

I got DSL for my birthday and as my computer sits on one side of the room and the phone connection is on the other it involves running two wires under the rug and up the side of the cabinets and under the countertop so we called to have a jack put in but when he came said he couldn't put it in place it has to be so suggested wireless. We got the router lasst night but it also has trhe same wires for DSL in it so don't know what to do here. I thought we only need router to pick up the signals and I didn't need all these wires. Does anyone know what I need to do? Dumb about computers. Thanks.

I bought a new Canon (LiDe 25) scanner. While scanning I noticed that Dark Pink (Fuchsia) color changed to light mauve (purplish) & Red slightly changes to Orange tone in the scanned picture. I tried all software setting in photoshop & canon scan gear but the color variations won't go.
My question is that, incase there is some technical problem in the scanner, I want to know exactly what it can be & is it expensive to fix ? Advise from professionals anticipated.
