Best of best software for making excellent Video DVD is
SONY DVD ARCHITECT STUDIO 4.0
Please give it a try
You can download it from below link:
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/download/step2.asp?DID=716
But remember, no recognized dvd program can make a dvd in less then a hour, because every dvd program encodes the video files into dvd video files (.vob), & it takes time, because it converts any input video into 720x480 pixels which is a comlicated time consuming task. You are not making a VCD, its a DVD Video, so be patient & let your pc to do so.
Have a Nice Day..........

Most people would probably suggest buying a Lite On, BenQ, NEC, or a Plextor burner. It's common to get a burner nowadays that has dual-layer burning, meaning it is able to burn dual-layered dvds (about 8 gigabytes). However, you should stick with single layer dvds (4.36 GBs) for now as they are cheaper. There are other burners available, but not all have the ability to book-type into dvd-rom. For more info, check here about book-typing: http://www.k-probe.com/kprobe-bitsetting-booktype.php
In simple terms, some burners are able to write info (before before your actual data) on a dvd+r that is read by other readers as "dvd-rom." This offers better read capabilities, for the most. Physically, it's still a dvd+r. but some older standalone dvd players aren't able to read DVD+Rs.
One other thing, to ensure reliable burn success, use quality media, such as ones made by Verbatim, Taiyo Yudens, or ones "Made in Japan." Using unknown/cheap media may result in a 'coaster' (unusable disc). Avoid Memorex, Imation, or other unknown brands, especially those office depot '100-pak' blank dvds!
