its not the driver thats at fault here but your actual graphic card
graphic drivers come as updates such as nvidia geforce forceware 37:71,however each individual graphic card has its own limitations
even with some modern p.c,s games such as "the cronicles of riddick" will not play as 50% of p.c,s have intergrated graphics which arent up to modern games
unless you buy a specific games p.c then manufacturers will normally leave the graphics down to the onboard graphics, this saves them money so you dont pay too much for the p.c
graphic cards come as certain standards such as pixel and shader model, this comes in model 1.1 , 2.0 , 3.0 and the latest 4.0
then you have direct x,this is a microsoft driver that produces all the 3d effects in games, direct x originally started with direct x 1,however the most popular versions were direct x 6,direct x 7,direct x 8 ,direct x 9,and the latest version direct x 10
then theres open gl,which is similar to direct x,and comes as open gl 1.1,open gl 2.0 , open gl 2.1 and post open gl 2.1
all these different factors make up the way that games are driven, and also game developers have designed game "engines" ,these are programs that run games, sometimes many, and are specificly designed to produce amazing effects not seen in other games
two such engines are the "cry" engine and the "unreal" engine, the cry engine was used in the massive game "far cry" and the unreal engine was used in the popular game "unreal tournament"
one way to make sure that your p.c can play all games is to buy a dedicated pci-express or a.g.p(accelerated graphics port) card
they are not that expensive and a good card can be bought for less than £100
for example the nvidia geforce 7600gt(http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-046-GW&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=411) and the a.t.i radeon x1950pro(http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-137-SP&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=403)
these are both around £100 but both have pixel and shader model 3.0 and open gl 2.1,and both will play all games including "cronicles of riddick",i know the 7600gt will play it as i have a geforce 7600gt myself and it plays it good on high settings
please note:both these cards require a 400watt power supply or above,so make sure your system has the correct power wattage
however if you dont want to pay so much you can get a similar card with similar specs for around £50,the Asus GeForce N7600GS (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-116-AS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=411)is around £60 but will play all games just not at high resolution
any problems let me know
good luck mate!

It means your graphics card works, but you need a slightly more advanced driver for it.

Find out what kind of graphics card you have, this can be found in the device manager. (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware tab -> click on device manager). When you find the name of the card, do a google search to find the website of the manufacturer.

Once you find the website, see if there's a support or downloads section. You can usually find updated drivers there.

What video card do you have? That game needs a VERY hefty video card. I tried with a low-end and I barely got 3 frames per second in the menus. I didn't even want to try the actual game until I get a good video card.

In other words, don't even try running it unless you get a GeForce 6800 / 7600 or better, or Radeon 950 / 1650 or better.

purely make particular it has the main suitable enlargement slot for that portraits card (your dad could be conscious of) and you have the main suitable OS for its drivers. in my opinion you men could initiate from scratch, that concern is almost a fossil.
