So I'm low on cash, so I am going to buy a barebones kit from a website. The kit I want has the mobo, case, cpu and power supply in a bundle. So I was going to buy the right ram for the new motherboard and stick everything else thats in my current computer into the new one. They all work fine. So my hard drive is what I'm curious about. It has all my info on it, and so can I put that in the new computer without the computer going crazy on me, or will I need to reformat it and reinstall windows? Thanks for any input.

I have a whole bunch of pictures on a disk and I have to look at them how do I do that? I put the disk in I tried both drives and nothing happens what do I do? PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have an older PC(2002, AOpen, 1.0 GHz Intel Celeron, 128MB RAM, Windows XP SP2) and I want to pass it down to a younger brother. However, I want to make a few upgrades(384MB RAM, and a 32 or 64MB video card)before. I need some info on the motherboard, but I'm not sure how to find this info. Is there any software(other than CPU-Z) where I can find this information?

I do not want porn on my computer & when I am with my children at the computer, some distubing images have popped up-graphics & all. This may not seem like a big deal to most people, but it is to me.

Also, there is a situation that may involve by someone who was in our home & I need to know exactly what type of sites were being used...especially if the porn is illegal (i.e. child porn).

There must be ways to do this besides just viewing the history files because those can easily be erased...I need to know more advanced features so that I can actually see what was done. I have emails with porn & these type of ads all over the place & I am sick of it. It is not something I asked for not solicited...I want it off of my computer.

I appreciate any assistance in this matter.

Okay, a while ago we took my computer to get a dvd burner/player on it. Before it wouldn't do nothing with em. Anywho, I can play DVDs and have to play them in Power DVD. But I want to burn some DVDs of like video's i've made. How do I do that? I've tried looking around the Power DVD, but couldn't find anything. I've also tried with Window's Media Player and that didn't work either. Does Power DVD even have the ability to burn, if so how? If not what can I download that will let me?

OK, so this is what happened, I hooked up all the stuff, mouse, monitor, keyboard, speakers, printer, and the machine won't start up, and the screen just is black. It's not beeping. I have the monitor hooked up with a blue end piece on a cable that comes with it, and plugged into a wall, and the tower. And the tower has a power coard to the wall as well. It's an old one, windows 98, and this is NOT the same computer as my other question. what do i do?

When I attempt to start my Itunes player to download music it keeps telling me that "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience". Its hasn't done this before and I don't know why its doing it now! I tried taking it off my computer and re-downloading it and it still comes up with the error report. Please, does anyone know what to do about a situation like this?

The card is a Nvidia GeForce4 440 Go 64M, I would really like to improve it because even though my laptop is 2 years old, still works great due to it's specifications, it has 100 Gigas HDD, AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3700+ and 2 Gigas RAM, so it would be perfect to get a better graphics card now. Ok so the E6420 is a 2.13 Ghz dual core with 4MB L2 cache and the E6600 is a 2.4 Ghz with the same cash, same FSB same everything from what I can tell other than 270 MHz. The question is, from a performance standpoint, Should I go with the 6420 and spend the extra 50-60 bucks on the video card, (I was going with an ASUS 7600 GT 256 for $109) and OC the 6420... OoOoooOoor, should I get the E6600, oc that sucker and stick with the V Card I have? Need some good oppinions here. THanks!
