Better, how can I read diskettes made with Word perfect that does not have the current DOS format. Is there a word perfect programme that can access from this format, or do I have to load that specific programme?

I just got a dell not a top of the line or new but it works. my old dell i still have and use for thhe rest of my family. it has nex-tech wireless and some wierd little box that says POWER,CABLE,PC,DATA,TEST and little green lights by each word. I think it is a router. My new computer is not a lap top. I need it to work on wireless not through the phone chord.

Bittorent is downloading one of my files REALLY slow (about 0.0-something per second!!!) and the other one isn't downloading at all (the bar is 100% red dood!)!!! Dood!!! And also there ain't any clients connecting to my µtorrent dood!!! They always say disconnect: peer error: offline (timed out).

Can anyone help me get my BitTorrent uber-faster? Or help me connect to cliens on µtorrent dood? I'm desperate so any info is fine dood!!!

I m a s/w engineer and to my knowledge I verified everything in the system and found that all the drivers of USB port are installed. I went into BIOS and found tat the poprts are enabled.
Whenever I plug any USB device there's a red-light blink for half sec. and then goes off and the drive remains undetected.
If anyone can answer then please I'll be glad......My system is "Compaq Presario SR1320IL", XP Proff wit SP-2 installed.
If you require any further info. then please ask.....as I m frustrated as problem is not getting solved since 5 months.
If I go to HP's service center tey will charge a lot.

I dowloaded some music off of LimeWire and now my CD drive does not work. How can I find this and delete it or atleast get my CD to acknowledge that I have CD's in it? I called the computer company and they said it sounded like a file that was download from these music things will corrupt the files that run the CD drive. But, my computer wasn't under warranty anymore so that's all they could tell me. I'm a college student with practically no money so going to somewhere professional is my last resort. I can't run, burn, or watch anything on my computer... please help!

About a week ago I had google toolbar and yahoo and msn. all of a sudden the long white bar that would have the web site address in it- has gone bye bye. How do I get that one back- or how do I find the address of the site I am on the address only shows when accessing it at the bottom near the blue "e"

This is a rather straightforward question. I've had this problem on two systems so far, both with the same chassis. The computer in question is a e1705

Okay, Whenever I have itunes or similar open and play music at 25-50% volume, my computer runs like it should, no problems whatsoever..

However, when I bring it up to like 80-90% volume the greenlight that indicates that hard drive is spinning goes solid green, and the computer locks up hard core. The music still plays but every other program won't respond. I have to hit the mute button on the front of the computer, wait a minute, then when the mute command goes through, everything is back to normal. Programs open quickly ect..

Which leads me to believe that the speakers are causing some sort of magnetic interference with the Hard Drive.

Any ideas, world?

Hi guys, i got a question about my motherboard, i dont know what kind of motherboard i am using, i know i have windows xp pro.
so i went to my device manager, and it didnt tell me the name of the motherboard, i also went to my system information, i dont think it said the nbame of the board, but it did recognize the system board, i know there is a name for my motherboard, and i forgot what it was, i wish i had that box, i was so stupid for throwing it away, tell me the steps to know what is the motherboard, and also i noticed that in my device manager.
it found that there was an X to where its saying that its missing some kinf of a NIC card from realtek, i dont think its a software, i need to buy the hardware, show me where to find that at FRYS electronics,

I have 3 pcs, one old (1.2 Duron), one mid-level (Athlon 2600+) and one quite good (Athlon 64 3500+). The problem I'm having is with the mid-level one. Unless the media player I am using is the selected window, the mp3's playback is very choppy and inconsistent. It does this no matter which player I use (have tried windows media player, winamp, vlc and jet audio). I am using the same codecs on all 3 machines, and all mp3s play perfectly even on the slow machine. All machines are using onboard sound. Any assistance?
