I want to overclock my dell laptop, the E1705.

Processor: Intel Core Duo T2350
Video Card: 256MB ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1400 w/HyperMemory

I do not know how to, so either a step-by-step explanation or a website that will explain it for me would be nice.

First you need a cooling pad (cooler master makes a good one) that will give you a cusion of about 10 degrees C to work with. amazon has them for less than 50 bucks shipped. get a good one though. Heat kills! now then i have a dual turion 2.0Ghz runing @ 2.21 Ghz at 68 degrees which is the same as it running stock without my cooling pad. i only turn on my softoverclock when its on my pad. i suggest you do the same. heres IS how you overclock it in less than an hour.

clockgen.com~download clockgen and run it. there are 5 tabs, click on " PLL control" and the slider on top if theres 2 or just the one will control your FSB. (if it doenst look right you need to manually select your PLL chip. here is a very easy guide to finding it! http://www.cpu-cool.de/FSB.HTM , after you find out what it is you will select it from the "PLL setup" button on Clockgen) take it up slowly. leftmost dial will show your cpu mhz. i went from 200 FSB to 210 FSB. so my amd 5600+ duals are @ 2946 Mhz from 2.8 without a problem. i would not recoment exceeding 7% or so without better cooling.
this is pretty safe though, it isnt uping the volts so you will probably suffer a few "blue screee mem dumps" in finding whats stable for you.
****Best way to do it because it only overclocks when you turn on the program, and you can turn down your clock to save battery****
other programs that overclock, change volts or identify things are (and are free)******************************** (google these) CBid ~ CPUMSR ~ PC Wizzard ~ CPUStab Test ~ CPU-z

overclocking the processor on any laptop is never a good idea. Overclocking means the processor is generating more heat and in laptops, most processors are underclocked to keep down the temp.

sorry but its not gonna happen, you overclock a laptop and you will be shopping for a new one in about a month or less, and most pc manufactures dont even allow you to overclock.
