my computor was home built ..lost the product key a good while back ..need it to restore this computor ,how can i retrieve it ,ussing this computor?

you can try retrieving the product keys by running a Belarc scan http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html or right click on My Computer, select properties and the product key might be on the General tab

There is a utility called Belarc advisor that you can download that will tell you the information that you are looking for

im not 100% on this but i think you need to ring microsoft customer services, there number should come with the documentation
