Hi,
I have a Packard Bell notebook. It came with 512mb RAM but i removed that and inserted two 1gb sticks. Total ram is now 2gb which is the maximum.
UNfortunately programs still take way to long to open, and boot time is also slow.
Two main qsts:

1. Does it matter that i replaced the original RAM with new Kingston RAM?
2. If i try to speed up my bootup time, what are the essential programs required. Basically, what do i HAVE to keep in the msconfig startup box?

I am an advocate fan of using Mozilla Firefox. On my personal PC. I am encountering this error code: Offset: 5100000, this occurs when a website has windows media player embedded in it's website. It causes the web browser to close. This also occurs in Microsoft Internet Explorer. I have google for finding a solution. But i can't find anything straight forward or to narrow down my search. I have looked at the Mozilla Firefox forums as well. Tried all alternatives in rectifying this problem. I would like to know if anybody else has encountered this problem and found a solution? I don't want to be in a position of having to reinstall Windows XP again? My version is a pirate one! there i'd said it. But i do have an original disc. Please let me *Other I.T. Professionals* if you have came across this problem? If you need additional information, let me know and i shall supply it.

Is the Windows Service Pack 2 available for download over the net free? If yes, will it be downloaded on pirated Windows XP version. I am shortly changing to windows xp genuine home edition. Can I download it for free then? If its not free, what's the cost? Our technician told that the genuine Win xp home costs about 100$, but in order to receive security updates from microsoft, an additional 200-300$ has to be used. I dunno what it is for? Is it really true?

I get the following message every minute in my event viewer and my Information Store stops. If I restart the IS it is fine for half an hour or so, then it stops again. This just started yesterday. This PC is also a domain controller.

The MAPI call 'OpenMsgStore' failed with the following error:
The attempt to log on to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer has failed.
The MAPI provider failed.
Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store
ID no: 8004011d-0512-00000000

Anyone have a definitive solution.

Is anyone else having problems with their ebay account this morning? I dont seem to be able to delete any watched/ended items out of the account and I keep getting a message saying "input error" and if I don't get that, I get "the page cannot be displayed" message...

Whats better about it? What does it do?
I have 2 computers and I downloaded it on one of them, so I could download windows media player 11, lol.

The icons and toolbar of the desktop wouldn't show and it kept on saying there is a problem please close...
