This printer has been a real workhorse. Then one day it got a (genuine) paper jam - the paper jam light came on and it ground to a halt. I cleared the jam, which was straight forward, but the jam light stayed lit and it stubbornly refuses to respond to all my attempts to persuade it to resume its role in my life. I've cleaned it, cuddled it and cursed it, all to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks.

I do not want the box that indicates whether or not I have mail on AIM. I have gotten rid of the box, but the sound still remains. Does anyone know how to get rid of the sound? Thanks. I have a Dell computer--Windows XP.

This printer has been working fine, but suddenly it just stopped working - the paper is fed through and the cartridge carrier zips back and fore quite the thing, as if it's printing - but the sheets come out blank. It's the same whether it's black or colour I'm trying to print. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but still no joy.

i am thinking of adding a 320 gig internal drive to my desktop computer.

once installed, is it then easy to remove the harddrive without damaging it?

I ask this because i may be moving overseas, and do not want to take the entire computer with me - just the hard drive. I do not really want to buy an external drive, as i believe they are slower, and more expensive.

My hard drive is 250Gb. I have it partitioned so that the main drive is (c:)140gb, second is (d:)100gb and backup drive is (e:)10gb
The first 2 are NTFS. The other is FAT32
The other day I noticed that my 100gb partition has just disappeared! My C drive still reads 140gb. I checked in Disk Management and it says 140gb.
What has happened! Can I recover this drive??

Hi everyone!
I've had an optical mouse for the last six months which has been working fine up until a couple of weeks ago. Then it froze anytime I started the computer. I was able to make it work by unplugging it and re-plugging it (usb port). But now even that doesn't help.
I get a message saying that "Windows has detected an unknown usb device which has malfunctioned."
It's a real pain as otherwise, the mouse is in perfect working order. I've tried to use another usb port but without success. My computer is on Windows XP. What shall I do (apart from buying a new mouse!)
Please can you help me with this?

What causes this? after 2 hours on my dialup the connection drops out (as it always has) but the phone line then goes dead for 10-15 minutes and i can't re-dial up. this has been happening regularly for the last week.

i don't know how it got there but it is from spyware quake, it is a blue circle with a question mark inside then it flashes red with a line thru it. it is located down the right hand corner by my clock, then to top it off every 5 or ten minutes it causes a pop up on my screen saying my computer is infected, duh i know that, because it is the infection. i tried to delete it by going in to my control panel at the add and remove area but it will not delete ,i even brought up all the files on it but it only will let me delete about 80 % of them. please help, it starting to piss me off.
