This printer has been working fine, but suddenly it just stopped working - the paper is fed through and the cartridge carrier zips back and fore quite the thing, as if it's printing - but the sheets come out blank. It's the same whether it's black or colour I'm trying to print. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but still no joy.

Sounds like either your ink is empty, or the print heads are clogged with dried ink. Use the Epson head cleaning utility to clean the heads. Check ink levels too.

Did you buy a generic ink..if so go back to the original ink...cheaper inks will kill your printer....try cleaning the heads...depending how long you have had the printer, the print heads could be burnt out.....if nothing works buy a new printer..,.these days they are dirt cheap...i just bought a Canon pixma ip 4200 for $140.00 at the goodguys in Geelong...and its a magic machine...it even prints on dvds or cds....ps...take out all the inks...then take out the print heads and soak it in warm water overnight..then let it dry by itself....DO NOT TOUCH THE PRINT HEADS THEMSELVE...

Epsons do that all the time. HP and Canon are rated as better printers in PC Magazine. I would recommend getting an HP.
