Download your DVD-rom firmware if you can find it , to reset your DVD region.

for LG and Hitachi , download RPCman : http://www.rpc1.org/~farzeno/xom2/rpcman.htm

btw, you can still play DVD (any region) in your Dvd-rom with software like AnyDVD.

or goto this site : http://www.dvdidle.com/dvd-region-free.htm

you don't, there is a firmware agreement that states that after changing the region 5 times, some say 6, you are no longer able to change the region again. My only 3 possibles helpful answers are as follows:
1) Download the same firmware you already have for your DVD player from the manufacturer's web site.
2) Reformat your hard drive and reinstall windows and start over, this may be beneficial in many ways depending on the current state of your pc, just make sure you back up everything you want to keep like programs, movies, pics, music, and games onto a second/external hard drive.
3) If uninstalling the DVD drive and then reinstalling it AND the above suggestions don't work, then buy another one, they're only like $35-40 retail from www.newegg.com
Now I have a question for you. What have you been doing to have to change your region that many times? I suggest if you have to switch between the same two regions over and over, fix your current problem AND buy another DVD Drive so you can have 2 and set the second one as the other region. There are also ways around regional restrictions through software. Search for some media players and you'll find quite a few.

Agree with Cutie, there is no reset option to a region code inside a drive, it would stuck on Region whatever your last DVD-watching experience was. Buy a new drive for reading other Region.
