I have just downloaded a new version of msn but my old msn keeps signing me in without telling me. how can I stop this? or how can I uninstall old msn because it's not on my list of programmes I can change or delete?

I run Windows XP Pro, AVG free edition, Spybot, and Windows Defender....none of these removed it. I see virus burst in my tray and it pops up and gives me that "Critical system error" message.

my programmes freeze up a lot lately and some have crashed. been re-directed to msn downloads but to be honest don't find there site particularly informative, or anything they suggest i have tried. it happens mostly when i am on the net and i defrag, remove adware, spyware and all the other stuff that is recommended. am i missing something? my son told me that firefox is the way to go. anyone else of the same opinion or had similar problems and resolved, and if so how. thanks for help

Ok, so I take great care in not tossing my laptop around and have a case for it, nonetheless, the surrounding frame around my laptop screen and the base around my keyboard keeps on getting scratched! There are little black scratches on the perimeter of my keyboard and the frame of my screen (the silver coating is apparently scratched off in those little places). I don't understand why these scratches just magically appear out of nowhere when I do not put any abrasive surface against the laptop and am so careful in handling it. Please help!

Radio shack said I would have to get one from Linksys, Linksys support said to get one at Best Buy or an Electronics store. Can someone tell me exactly which one I need to buy and which numbers are important on the adapter. I don't want to blow out the switch.

I"m looking for a program to open my email immediately, not a popup notification telling me I have mail, I want the actual email opened immediately as soon as it comes to my inbox. I don't care if it's yahoo, hotmail, gmail, pop3, whatever. Preferably HTML based, but anything will do.

All I get on the cd is a icon with 44 bytes .
Any suggestions or would anyone know why?
even my old tapes I recorded of family get togethers that I put to cd then mp3 will not burn to an audio cd .
the track icon that is 44 bytes only directs the computer to play it just from the computer why- Thanks

Hey, I am trying to buy a Rambus non ecc PC800 memory from ebay. The one I have on my motherboard is (2X256MB)Rambus Non-ECC PC800-40 and the ones on sale on ebay are Rambus Non-ECC PC800-45 (2X256MB) so I am wondering if those two could be combined together to make (4X256MB) 1 GB memory. Can PC800-40 and PC800-45 work together??

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to install McAfee VirusScan Plus 2007 on my Windows XP machine. Each time I get an error saying it can't install because of Norton Rescue Disk and Norton Antivirus 2002 Professional Edition.

I have never installed these items so they must have come with this computer (Dell Dimension). I uninstalled everything I could but am still getting the error.

Here is what I have done so far:

*Uninstalled Norton
*Went to the Norton website and used the removal tool to get rid of anything Norton leaves behind.
*Removed all Norton/Symantec folders and files.
*Went into the Regedit and got rid of everything Norton/Symantec
*Also tried booting into Safe Mode to get rid of everything.
*ran all my spyware products.
*Went to the McAfee help site and they cant' help me because it is a Norton product.
*Went to Norton and they don't have anything relating to products from 2002.

So, how on EARTH do I get rid of this? I want to install my software.

I really need to get rid of this program. Also, I can not reinstall XP because it didn't come with this Dell.
