I'm buying a laptop for college and i have a few choices.
a) 512 MB DDR RAM (whatever that means) and 40GB HDD
b) 1GB DDR RAM and 40GB HDD
c) 256 MB DDR RAM and 40GB HDD
Can anyone explain these terms in easy to understand english?!?
How much memory would an average college student actually need??

I downloaded something from Limewire and somehow a lot of adware got installed into my computer. New windows are opening frequently My PC has become really slow Home page changed automatically and I cant delete the adware programs as it gives an error that this program is being used by some process end the process and try again. This has been happening, since I got my new computer and YM Beta 3. It only happens when the computer is on sleep or idle, that it lost the connection to the Internet. I don't get it. For my old one, it constantly disconnected and quitted. I also get the same message for the Internet alone, when it's asleep, and had nothing to do with the YM. (I asked this question at YM yesterday.) I thought my YM problems will be over. The answerer said when it's asleep, it loses the connection, even for YM. Why is that? Is it Yahoo SBC or something else that does it?
