received e-mail from yahoo.com stating won on a lottery drawing. Did not state made me eligible to enter another drawing or anything just stated won an amount of money. Is this ligitimate?

It's almost certainly an "advance fee" fraud (sometimes called a 419 fraud, for a version often seen from Nigeria. The basic scam is to make you think that you will get a big payoff, but first you have to send them a check for fees, taxes, and other expenses. They'll never be willing to deduct the costs from your winnings and send a check for the balance, and they'll evaporate with your money if you send them any.
