Is it me, (living near a road), or are there more and more cars with mega loud exhausts on the road? And they are usually heaps of junk so why would you want to draw attention to it? Isn't there a law on the db allowed and is it enforced at all?

It was recently reported on the news that there was a court case regarding the use of civilians for catching people speeding and the legalities of civilians carrying this out on behalf of the police. Does anyone know the outcome of this or is it still ongoing?

These awful cars need to be taken off the road. Children MIGHT be safer in them, but at the cost of any other poor child who happens to get in the way of one. Not only are they heavy and unsafe to pedestrians, but they also have massive blind spots.
Their sales are high because they pander to people's paranoia about safety as well as a lot of driver's personal insecurity and lack of self esteem. In the old days these latter drove fast sports cars, but now our roads are so blocked that they find no pleasure in this, so they go for size and muscle instead.
Then of course there are the environmental costs.
I live down a long farm track in the country, but I also know that anyone competant to drive can get a modern front wheel drive car through virtually anything, including quite deep snow.

If for no other reason the because it's bigger then you. I absolutely hate it when I'm pulling equipment and some idiot pulls around around me just so they can turn off into a driveway . I should just start running into the inconsiderate SOBs. 12,000 lbs of farm equipmnet Vs. 4,000Lbs of car. Doesn't take much to figure out who would win. Farm equipment has just as much right on the road. Of course I could drive through the ditch and take out your nice sod, mailbox, driveway reflectors. and everything else you may have.

I'm talking about when someone tailgates you (even when you are going 5 to 10 mph above the speed limit), then passes you on the wrong side of the road when you stop at a stop sign, then purposely brakes constantly so you are more likely to crash into them, then purposely stop in the middle of an intersection with no turn signal? Yeah, you can tell I didn't have a good day on the road during rush hour. But how do you handle something like this? Is it better to be the other person and not pay any attention to it, or do you have other responses? I'd like to hear them all, and maybe some advice on how I could've handled the situation better. Thank you!

Comparison between todays and supercars from 15-20 days ago. Have the todays supercars lost their edge? Have they become cars for mommas boys. Environmentally sensitive, unobtrusively quieter todays supercars are a long shot from the good old days. Simply put, they have lost their original testicular fortitude.
Old school super cars didn't concern themselves with trivial things. They were loud and fast and didn't take crap from nobody.

This question I have found by watching this video from Topgear:
http://www.automotosport.info/article-373.html

What's your opinion are today supercars lost their age? Are you longing for old good days?

Hi!

I know what do when your car starts to hydroplane out of control, but what do you do if you have a blow out while driving on the highway? Is there anything you can do?

Pump breaks? Turn into the skid? Is there anything?

Just wondering...Thanks...

If you go into the ditch in a snowstorm and call 911, will the cops come for you right away or will they wait until the snow stops? Do they ever use snowmobiles or anything like that? I'm writing a story and I want it to be as realistic as possible.

So yeah, my windshield wipers dont work and I live in Honolulu, and it is raining hard here .... and when it rains, it freaking pours. I tried driving but i got one block and couldnt see anything so I had to come home.

I want to know if anyone here knows any way that I can keep my windshield clear in the rain without using the wipers. I am going to go to Walmart to get window wax so the rain will slide off the glass, but do you know any other way or if that way works? Please let me know, cause right now I am stuck.

No matter where i go nowadays seems to be people dont know how to use indicators on the cars, especially when going right on a roundabout!!! im pretty sure when i learnt to drive 8 years ago using indicators was standard practice!!! It is so annoying having to stop at a roundabout only to find out the driver was turning off anyway , so therefore there was no need to stop!!
Please for my sanity use ur indicators , cos thats what theyre there 4, theyre not just pretty lights!!!

people driving on a two lane road use the oncoming traffic lane as a turn lane? Or is this a Georgia thing?

We were driving to my in-law's house yesterday afternoon, and there was a car in front of us. It was going 45 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone and I was already annoyed with them because the road is curvey and it is hard to pass on it because there is a double yellow line on most of it. (Another of my peeves, people pass on this road all the time even though they have no idea if the lane is clear or not) At one point, they put on their blinker, moved over into the oncoming traffic lane, and proceeded to drive in it for an eighth of a mile before making a left hand turn. IDIOTS!

Another of my driving peeves - people who stop at the top of on-ramps on freeways, expressways and interstates to see if there is any traffic coming instead of trying to merge with the traffic at a respectable speed.

I hate driving.
