The cops would come if they could. In a blizzard though you can get lsot a few feet from your vehicle or house. You are better off to make sure you carry an emergency kit and sleeping bags. Even a candle will help keep a car warm. When you run the car, if you can, make sure you have enough ventilation, roll down a window a little. If it is an emergency situation like the birth of a baby then they may try to reach you by snowmobile. They will not risk the life of themselves or others if the blizzards conditions are bad enough. If you do have a cell phone at least you could find out what to do from professionals. I was born and grew up in Minnesota, when in the Coast Guard I spent 2 years in Antarctica, I know something about storms. Always prepare ahead for the emergency that could happen.

They'll probably stop at Dunkin' Donuts for coffee, call a tow truck and/or the fire and rescue team en route, and get to you if possible. I've never seen any cops on snow mobiles around here, but we don't get very much snow, either. Chances are, some gooid ole' boys in a 4 wheel drive and tow chain could reach you before the boys in blue!

Yes they will come. They are an emergency service and have to answer the call, however they may divert to an appropriate service. They will most likely send the fire brigade out as they are best suited. You probably want to make it a story about a stranded woman or it might not have the same appeal!!

I live in FL, so I cant answer about snowstorms.. BUT, I know during Hurricanes they wont come and get you until it dies down a little bit.. so maybe its the same as in a snow storm.

The cops I know will treat it like a missing person after three days. It doesn't matter if you are on the phone or not.

Depending on where you live- they do have snowmobles if you have a pretty accurate location. Is there tracking on the cell phone? Depending on visibility. A snowplow/salt truck may lead them to the location.

I hear a cop say once that during a bad storm his ownly job is to pick up bodies. Thhey do not get paid to take bullets and acts of god. If Darwin says its your time then it up to you to find your own way out of it.
