With you there. I used to have a motorbike, on a long straight wide road, I could see a car in the middle of the road, the car looked to be turning right but didn't have it's indicators on. As there was no oncoming traffic and the car hadn't moved in 20 seconds I thought it was safe to overtake, of course the second I did..bang the breeder turned! I did 2 double flips and landed flat on my back, people came running out from their houses but as they came near a lot were fainting? The sweet & sour I'd stowed under my jacket was now leaching out, they'ed all thought it was my entrails spewing out. Luckerly i was only brused, the muffin driver paid all the costs.

I've always thought of it this way:
Why would someone repeatedly risk their life just for the sake of flicking a switch?
I had a Taxi driver do a U-turn at a roundabout tonight without any indicators, it's dark here and all from a man who should be a better driver than the rest of us.

I signal a turn if turning off a busy road and the following car is at a decent distance behind me. I don't usually bother to, if I am sitting in a marked left turn lane, or a street that dead ends onto another where a right or left turn are the only option. It's a no brainer isn't it? If some idiot is hugging my back bumper, I will deliberatly NOT signal!. No courtesy to follow me at a safe distance, then I have no courtesy to signal my turn. Let 'em guess!

Even if I see someone using their turn signal, I take it with a grain of salt. Not only am I seeing an increased incidence of failure to use turn signals, the aversion to electronic lights have progressed to ignoring red traffic lights also. I never proceed through an intersection when my light changes to green until I make absolutely sure some Bozo isn't running full out through the intersection. Courtesy is going the way of chivalry, a lost art.

Seems they have forgotten, and roundabouts seem to be treated as "stop" signs. Still that's understandable with all the visual obstructions (the councils seem to love to spend money on) sat on the roundabout so you can't see what's coming anyway.

What's a roundabout? Are signal lights the same as indicators?
Where are you from? Fascinating!
I ride with a friend who does lane changes without signaling, IRRATATING!

Are you referring to turn signals? I think in Michigan, it is apparently an option on most vehicles instead of standard equipment as I have noticed since working up here that almost no one (at least not native Michiganders) use the damn thing! I feel like an outcast every time I do!

You know,I've owned alot of cars but I've never purchased a new one.Fortunately all the original owners of my cars ordered the turn signal option, but people must not do that anymore.Besides if your in a sport ute who cares if you take out a small sports car?

No they haven't forgotten, indicators these days are optional extras >hence they cost more to have operational ones, the people you are tlkn about actuallydo indicate,it's just that they are poor ppl & can't afford to actually have them "blinking"
