My first question is about speed limits and turning right on a red "when children are present" I am about to take my licence test so I need to know. Do these two rules (speed limit and turning right on red) apply ONLY before and after school or from school hours like 8:00am to 3:00pm?? Is it only when you actually SEE children? And also do you stop at a blind intersection or just slow down to 15 MPH? (There is NO sign stating what to do) If there is another car who has the right away?

Thanks!!!

It was reported in the Chennai news paper that 3 persons were traped inside a car, which broke down because of high water level in the road. These people were found dead in the morning and the paper assumes that they had died because of Air Conditioning gas leak?

I am in Ohio and the officer gave me a ticket for not wearing a seat belt. (Driver). I got a warning on the violation he actually pulled me over for, so I'm thankful for that. But how much should I be expecting to pay on the seat belt fine?

Some drivers flash their right side signal indicating that i can over take them. I think it is not safe since i do not know if he is going to turn to the right or permiting me to overtake!

I have always been curious about the exact reason for not having seatbelts in a bus. You would think that there would be some on the count of the children.

I was driving south on a street and the cop was driving north on the same street. Is it possible to get an accurate speed of my car if we are both going forward? I though the cop car has to be parked to get the speed. He said i was going 46 in a 35, when I know i was going 38 at the most. I tried going 46 after i got the ticket and 46 is waaayyyyy faster than what i was going

She was emerging from a junction, with the car approaching from the right, indicating to turn to his left. My wife thus came out, assuming he was entering the junction where my wife was. He went straight on, and she collided into his side. She then pointed out that his indicator was STILL on. She has two witnesses. What do the public think will be thel ikely outcome?

This may sound obvious, but they aren't necessarily built so well, and tend to roll and tip more easily - but I am looking for a car that can really protect me in city traffic, a little tank, if you will. I'm mainly concerned with surviving head-on collisions, offset-crashes, and side impacts administered by careening idiots. Is an SUV going to be a good choice?

I know we have rights in this country, and I know the car makers have a right to make it to go so fast - even if we aren't supposed to drive it that fast- but what I'm getting at is that it seems almost like an incentive to do something wrong. Do you understand what I'm getting at? Like they are encouraging you to speed.

I know i just asked a similar question, but in retrospect I felt the grammar didn't convey what I really ment.

What i mean is... which is more likely to kill someone? driving too fast, or driving badly?

Please, I dont want no crappy answers about speed and bad driving going hand in hand...

I'll answer that answer for you, most people (myself included) when driving fast concentrate even HARDER on the road than if you was cruising at 50

I've driven at speeds on the motorway which shall we say greatly exceed the speed limit, but I've never felt I've been driving dangerously or putting other people at risk because my concentration increases with that speed.

Thanks to the guy from a previous q i asked for this, he started the ball rolling.

Was on the motorway about 2 weeks ago, the police car was doing smack on 70mph. I moved to overtake but a car in front of me wouldn't get out of the fast lane... I wouldn't undertake with a police car next to me, but eventually the car pulled into the middle lane which i promptly passed. To my horror I saw the police lights go on and thought i was in trouble... but to my surprise (at common sence being shown by a police man) he pulled the driver who wouldn't move out of my way.

This IS a fact, speed limits were 1st introduced nationally during the north sea oil crisis (put to the media as a way of making safer driving).

However on the motorway at night, surely a 100mph speed limit between 12pm-5pm is reasonable with the greatly reduced traffic.

Teenage drivers are the bain of all us good drivers with insurance...
They hike up our premiums cos when they pass they all think their Ayrton Senna (and often end up like he did).

Would a more appropriate age for even maybe male drivers be increased to 20 or 21?
