i want to get a bike, i have not ridden since i was about 18 and had a dirt bike.

What is a good starter bike? Nothing big and powerfull (i would rather not kill myself)

also something inexpensive..................


im thinking bairly street legal

i have a xj600n 1998 and have seen a chain and sprocket kit for sale. is this all i need and what does endless chain meen? here is the link to the ebay site.

Just assembled a New Scooter. Had a little help. Charged the Battery. Turned the key and can't get nothing, not even kick start. What could be the problem? I saw my helper trying to kick start it without the battery being installed. The engine does not even try to turn over.

any bikers out there,just got me first chicken chaser and need to replace front downpipe.not had much to do with bikes before so this will proberly sound dumb,here goes.
i have front downpipe which came with 2 round seals,one for the engine end and one where it joins the silencer,the front of the downpipe is held to the engine by a cover plate,should there be a gasket under this plate? to hard to tell at the moment because its a mass of rust.

My cooling fan has never come on. I tested the circuit by jumping the cooling fan switch wires and the fan does work. However it has got hot enough idling in traffic that the idiot light comes on, but not the fan.

Do these cooling fan switch's go bad? Could it have scale built up and would cleaning it help?

I have seen discussions on some other motorcycle forums that makes me wonder if this is "normal" on Triumph triples.

Any one have a relevent experience they could share?

I just bought a 1994 Honda CBR F2 600 and I noticed that when I'm riding at low rpm's, it feels choppy. Is this normal? If not, what can be the problem?

I replaced a cross flow fluepipe between the 2 rear carby's. It all went well and started easy, however once it has warmed up after riding for a while, it idles at about 3000rpm. If I turn it off and leave it for about 10-15 mins it returns to normal, them idles high again after riding for a short time.

I have a dirt bike, a 2 stroke kx250. I want to chagne the oil, I only had it for about 10 hours on it, I dont know what the last guy used.
I got 10 quarts are 10w-30 car motor oil. Can I put it in? (not for the mix, but tranny. I have 2stroke oil for mix)
for my yamaha blaster, it said to use 10w-30, if you wanted to.
Cant seen no harm, but what do you think?
Also, since I put alittle to much oil in gas, and it made the sliencer alittle oily.. if I lower the oil in the gas, will the oil burn away from the silencer?

I am going through motorcycle withdrawls :( I injured my ankle pretty badly 3 days ago and I can't ride my bike for AWHILE. Someone cheer me up. I am going crazy everytime I look out my door and see my bike just sitting there. I am trying to convince my husband to let me ride my bike in 2 weeks instead of up to 8 weeks. I am going crazy here. I live to ride!!!! I am thankful my bike didn't get damaged so when I heal I can get back to riding. Any suggestions on healing more quickly so I can get back to riding?

I have yamaha FZR 600. Its chain is making strange noises, and I can feel miner vibration in the foot rest as well. Its not a continuous vibration, but it comes at a perticular stage of the tire revolution. I tightened it reasonably, and lubed it as well. It got better, but is still there.

I'm a girly girl but recently I've been having trouble wondering if I should get a car or a motorbike (proper 250cc +) but most of the girls I see riding look like men out there.

Do you think when a girl rides a motorbike she looks manly? If so, what should I get a car or bike.
