Your cable may be binding somewhere, check the routing.
The other possibility is that someone may have put a heavy duty spring in it.
I have a big motor in my FXR and have a Barnett clutch and the clutch is heavy.
If you're sure it's not an aftermarket spring,focus on the cable.

if its an older model (pre hydraulic) your cable may need to be replaced or pressure lubricated. if its a later model you may need to remove the clutch cover from your primary and adjust the release screw. look in your manual under routine maintenance & adjustments. you can adjust the pressure on the early ones by backing out (turn counter clockwise) the three pressure plate nuts until the clutch begins to slip in high (5th) gear then turn them back in 1/2 turn. they have notches on the underside that fit over bumps on the plate cover so they will stay wherever you set them
I put an after market 5 stud plate with the 51 roller clutch basket & barnett kevlar plates on my FXR it works a lot smoother now. just be carefull when you set the endplay on the basket. if you have a newer model with the diaphram pressure plate I'm out of ideas

On my FXRS I loosed clutch cable slightly til it was within my pull.

Harley clutches are just hard to pull, they do have an upgrade for the softtails that makes it easier at the dealers but if it's really hard you probably need to lube or replace the cable. Harleys dont have hydraulic clutches.

Take it to the dealer.could be very minor adj or clutch cable problem.

you have to bring it to a shop so they can losen it. don't do it yourself because you might damage it.
