PSB is a private enterprise that tests helmets and generally has a high standard. In America, as mentioned, Snell does its own tests and their standards are usually higher than the basic DOT standards that manufacturers must meet. British standards are high and PSB usually matches them.

In some countries the PSB label is accepted by the government, and in others it is not recognized at all, so you should check with the local authorities where you live.

You need to ask for specifics about the helmet you wish to purchase, and you need to find a store that sells that product so you can actually try it on and see it suits you. Some may not suit you at all, for various reasons.

The helmet you choose need not be a very expensive one, as some manufacturers have lower-priced products that meet and exceed the highest safety standards, but whatever you choose for yourself MUST meet high standards.

I am not familiar with the standard you quoted.

You can "wear" anything you want to. The true test is two fold 1. will protect you. 2. will it be legal. If the answer to either of those questions is no then you should not wear it.
